“You can’t escape me,” Killian whispered in my ear. I gasped as his breath grazed my temple, and I woke up with a start, glancing around the dark room. Nothing. No one was there. I exhaled shakily, but the sensation of Killian’s touch lingered like a phantom on my skin. He was haunting my dreams, invading my thoughts, and consuming my waking moments.
It had been two days since we returned, and even though he wasn’t here, I couldn’t escape his gaze—the memory of it burned into my mind.
